Position Overview

Learnit has an opening for a Curriculum Developer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a strong training and development background. As a curriculum developer, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing high quality training content for professional development courses for our clients.

This role’s focus is instructional design and content development, with secondary focus on training support for our instructor team, as needed. This is not a training delivery role. You will play a significant role in the creation of successful and effective professional development courses.

The individual will partner closely with the Senior Director of Programs, Senior Instructional Designer, and subject matter experts to design, develop, refresh and curate our ILT and e-learning solutions. The ideal candidate is self-directed, collaborative, flexible, research-driven, detail-oriented and efficient. They are deeply curious about people and the world. The hiring salary for this position is $75,000-$85,000 base pay annually, with a bonus structure. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop transformative, in-person and online learning journeys for our growing team of outstanding instructors. 
  • Flexibly use recognized models (such as ADDIE, SAM or Kirkpatrick) to rapidly design, develop, iterate and test new ILT training and e-learning solutions.
  • Stay up to date with scientific, business and learning trends, applying them to existing and new content.
  • Seek to continuously improve our instructional design and training processes. 
  • Curate our database of classes to make sure they are in order and up to date.
  • Contribute to development of systems and processes to track the effectiveness of our learning solutions (ROI of training for our clients).
  • Display strong visual design choices when creating (or guiding others in the creation of) our ILT and e-learning solutions.
  • Build relationships with key cross-functional partners (sales and CX)
  • Meet with clients as needed, supporting our Sales team with deep knowledge of our current offerings and a willingness to explore new, co-created solutions.
  • Potentially support and develop other employees in developing content and instructional design. 
  • Contribute to company projects as requested. 

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of work experience with career progression as a course developer or instructional designer, including significant experience with professional development (soft skills) training solutions, ideally to large organizations.
  • Experience with authoring tools (Articulate Storyline or other).
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing training materials for ILT, e-learning and video.
  • A work sample demonstrating your experience and skill in developing training materials for ILT and e-learning.
  • Solid project management skills including planning, managing details, tracking multiple tasks/projects, working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in person and in writing. 
  • Excellent SME partnering and skills. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or industry certifications in ID/OD/HR/L&D.
  • Experience with emerging tech trends for content creation (e.g., gamification, virtual reality, augmented reality and xAPI).
  • Experience in research.
  • Experience in a client-facing role.
  • Experience working in or with start-ups.
  • Experience working with a broad range of industries.
