Challenge
As SentinelOne scaled rapidly in the competitive cybersecurity space, the People team identified a growing gap in structured, scalable development programs. Employees across roles were asking for learning opportunities, but the organization lacked defined pathways for growth.
When a senior L&D leader joined the team, she was tasked with building an end-to-end learning ecosystem. The goal was not just to launch workshops, but to align learning with broader business outcomes — including improving retention, accelerating internal mobility, and preparing teams for the organization’s next stage of growth.
She knew the stakes were high. SentinelOne’s teams were fast-moving, highly technical, and discerning. The first round of programs needed to be engaging, relevant, and clearly valuable, or the company risked losing employee trust in L&D altogether.
“We knew that if the first offering didn’t land well, we’d lose momentum with our learners. There was a lot of pressure to get it right the first time.”
— Director of Learning & Development
Solution
SentinelOne partnered with Learnit to design and deliver a comprehensive learning program rooted in two strategic priorities:
- Build clear, role-based learning pathways that support development at every level
- Signal an organizational commitment to learning, innovation, and employee growth
Together, they rolled out a set of scalable learning experiences that continue to evolve and grow:
Sentinel Professionals Series
Live, virtual workshops open to all non-leaders, focused on essential skills like communication, collaboration, productivity, and problem-solving. Sessions prioritized practical tools, cross-functional interaction, and immediate application.
“People love connecting with coworkers across the business and learning new skills they can use right away.”
— L&D Program Manager
Emerging Leaders and Team Lead Cohorts
A cohort-based experience for first-time and soon-to-be leaders, covering topics such as building trust, coaching, giving feedback, and leading with clarity. Cohorts were curated by role and geography to foster relevant peer learning.
AI Upskilling Cohort
In 2024, SentinelOne and Learnit co-launched a GenAI cohort to support company-wide digital transformation. The program combined AI writing and productivity workshops with AMA sessions and Slack-based engagement.
Employees shared real-time use cases in team channels, participated in demos, and helped create a culture of shared experimentation. Based on internal surveys, participants reported saving an average of 3 to 5 hours per week by using AI tools more effectively in their workflows.
“People were genuinely excited to show up, practice, and share how they were applying these tools at work and at home.”
— Senior HRBP, Product
