Must submit at least one sample course for review
Must have a PMP review the content of each course submitted into the REP database

Must show evidence of instructor qualifications appropriate to topics taught
Must use PMP certified instructor to deliver PMP exam preparation courses
Must make accurate representations of course objectives
Must be reviewed by a designated PMI reviewer before acceptance as an REP and once every three years thereafter
History
In January of 1999 PMI introduced new continuing education requirements to maintain PMP certification. This program is now known as the Continuing Certification Requirements Program (CCR). PMI realized that thousands of PMPs located throughout the world would need to find appropriate continuing education courses to earn the required 60 PDUs every three years. Thus a team of staff and volunteers began developing a system that would accomplish the following objectives:
“Recognize” training providers that agree to follow PMI established criteria
Criteria to be based on current best practices in training
Criteria to support advancement of PMI standards and other good practices in project management
Provide a searchable database of training courses
Link the database of registered courses to the PMP CCR records database
Be globally accessible
Be an inclusive system open to all qualified organizations
Be affordable to training providers and practical to administer
Be self-sustaining financially
Build a foundation for cooperation and communication between PMI and the project management education & training community
Providers listed in the R.E.P. registry would be the only organizations authorized to issue Professional Development Units (PDUs) for credit toward meeting the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) of the PMP certification. While PMPs may earn PDU credits from other learning activities, only Category Three PDUs are accepted without question by the PMI Certification Department.
