What is Learn iT! Anywhere?
Learn iT! Anywhere is an extension of Learn iT’s classroom training. It allows you to enjoy all of the benefits of instructor led classroom training while attending from your home or office. You will have a live instructor, train in real time, talk with your trainers and peers via conference call and participate in all classroom lab activities by accessing a virtual computer.
How do I attend the Learn iT! Anywhere training?
After enrolling, you will receive a confirmation email, with a link to this page. Simply click the link 15 minutes before class.
Are the Learn iT! Anywhere trainings hands-on?
Public classes: Students that attend classes from the public schedule will have a fully immersive, hands-on experience. Students will remote connect to a computer in the same class as the live students, so they will have the same computer environment, with the same practice files, and the ability to follow along with the instructor during class.
Private Training: Adobe Connect webinars are recommended to be delivered seminar or lecture-style. With that said, it is possible to build in “practice time” into an online course where the instructor will indicate to the participants when to go out of Adobe Connect and test their new skills in the actual application they are training on before returning to a “watch the instructor” mode back in the Adobe Connect interface console.
Another consideration is having a conference room setup with a laptop connected to the Adobe Connect training course displaying what the instructor is doing on a projector while the class participants work from their own laptop computers. Also, note hands-on webinars require a longer duration to cover the defined course objectives.
Can our company have a private Learn iT! Anywhere event?
Yes, we offer both public and private classes utilizing Learn iT! Anywhere.
Are all classes offered via Learn iT! Anywhere?
Most of our classes are available via Learn iT! Anywhere. Professional Development classes are now offered via Learn iT! Anywhere as well. If you do not see the class that you would like to attend ask your Account Manager if we can accommodate your request.
What is the standard procedure for students to ask questions?
During class: Students can alert the instructor if they need help or have technical issues using the conference line, the Adobe Connect Chat feature, or the Status feature. We recommended the primary contact be available during the session to help resolve any issues instructors cannot handle. They may need assistance from Learn iT!’s IT team and can be reached at: (415) 946-6500.
After class: We typically set aside 15-30 minutes for a Q&A session at the conclusion of the class.
Can Learn iT! Anywhere class invitations be added to the Outlook Calendar or other Mail applications like Lotus notes?
The class confirmation comes with a link in an internet standard format to add the appointment to your calendar. This works with all popular mail programs.
How will I obtain my courseware?
Students attending Learn iT! Anywhere virtual classes will have their courseware mailed to them prior to the first day of class, and links will be provided to additional material during the session.
What is the Deadline for registration in order for courseware to arrive?
You will need to register at least 7 business days in advance of the class in order to receive the necessary course materials prior to the start of class. Enrolling in class with less than a seven day lead time is possible, but may result in the student’s courseware arriving after the Learn iT! Anywhere class has started. Please contact your account Manager for last minute registrations.
Registration and Login Questions
How do I enroll in a Learn iT! Anywhere class?
You enroll in a Learn iT! Anywhere class in the same manner that you would enroll in any other learn iT! Class. It’s easiest to visit the website and search for a class that you would like to attend. Learn iT! Anywhere classes will be designated as such in the location column. Simply check the corresponding check box in the enroll column and follow the instructions to enroll for the class.
What are our options for registering our students?
Customer provides the email address of potential attendees along with the training organizer’s email. Learn iT’s IT team will receive this information and send out the invitations 2-3 weeks prior to the event date. Alternatively, you can forward the invitation to your students. Learn iT! will create the invitation and email it to the training organizer as an Outlook calendar meeting request which can then be forwarded to your students.
I forgot my username and/or password! What should I do?
Your username is the email address that you used to sign up for class. It is also the same email address at which you received the confirmation for the class. If you forget your password you can refer to your confirmation email.
What technology does Learn iT! Anywhere use and what does the student see when they log in?
Learn iT! Anywhere combines several technologies to provide different types virtual training, and the experience varies depending on the type of delivery you are interested in.
Instructor Presentation: Adobe Connect: Learn iT! Anywhere uses the rich interactive and education features of Adobe Connect meeting rooms to engage remote audiences in the learning process. We use Screen Sharing, Polls, Chat, File Transfer, and Web integration, all leveraging Adobe Flash, installed already on 98% of computers worldwide
Lab Machine - Remote Desktop (RDP): For classes that require hands-on training and lab time, Learn iT! Anywhere connects students to a controlled sandbox environment with full functionality using Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Protocol.
How do I prepare my computer for a Learn iT! Anywhere training?
After enrolling, you will receive a confirmation email. The confirmation email will outline the requirements that are necessary to attend the class, and will have instructions or links that allow you to test your system prior to class.

For an even richer experience, take Learn iT! Anywhere classes with a dual monitor setup or on two computers. This allows you to watch your instructor’s presentation on one monitor while practicing new techniques on the other.
Can I use Netscape or Mozilla FireFox to access Learn iT! Anywhere classes?
Learn iT! Anywhere works best with Internet Explorer. Some of our Microsoft specific classes require I.E. to work.
Can I use Windows xp or Vista to access my Learn iT! Anywhere class?
Yes - Learn iT! Anywhere is compatible with all versions of the Windows operating system.
Can I use a Macintosh computer to access my Learn iT! Anywhere class?
We support Mac users for webinar style classes. For hands on training, we require remote desktop technology which is only supported by PC.
Can students listen to the instructor's presentation over the internet through their computer speakers?
You can connect to the audio conference via VOIP connections (like Skype). Please be aware that some services charge fees and that voice quality of audio over a phone line is often superior to that delivered over the internet. You cannot connect to through the meeting room at this time.
How do Learn iT! Anywhere students complete the labs when they are not physically in the classroom?
Students remotely control a computer in our classroom. They will be able to complete all labs that the live students are assigned. The instructor can also connect to the Learn iT! Anywhere students lab computer remotely to provide assistance.
