What are Software Assurance Training Vouchers?
Training Vouchers give your organization access to in-depth technical classroom training that can help IT professionals and developers deploy, manage, and support your organization's infrastructure. Training is delivered by Microsoft Certified Learning Solutions Partners, who use Official Microsoft Learning courseware developed by Microsoft experts.

How do I get started?
| Steps for the Benefits Administrator:
Ensure that you have administrative rights to activate this benefit, or contact your Notices Contact.
Go to the VLSC Web site (www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/).
Click the Sign In button. On the next screen, enter your Windows Live ID credentials. If you do not have a Windows Live ID, click Sign Up Now and follow the instructions on your screen to obtain an ID.
Click on the Software Assurance link. This will take you to the Software Assurance Benefits Summary page.
Click on Training Vouchers.
Click on the LicenseID for which you want to manage Training Voucher benefits.
To begin using the Training Vouchers benefit, you must first create a voucher. To create a voucher, you will need to select the number of days associated with the vouchers and also designate the attendee who will be receiving the voucher and taking the course. The attendee will receive an e-mail with the voucher information. The attendee should forward this email to the training partner of choice in order to use the voucher as payment.
Promote the Training Vouchers benefit to your IT staff, Human Resources department, and those responsible for staff development within your organization.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I determine the number of Training Vouchers my organization is entitled to?
The number of days awarded varies by licensing program and the number of qualifying licenses covered by Software Assurance. The minimum number of licenses needed for voucher eligibility varies by program and Software Assurance coverage.
What happens when the training days for a particular course exceed what our vouchers will cover?
Any course days not covered by the voucher will need to be paid by the person who receives the training.
Can the Training Vouchers be applied to any instructor-led training on Microsoft products?
No. The vouchers are only redeemable for days of instructor-led training through Microsoft CPLS, and only for courses available through the Software Assurance Training Vouchers benefit.
If the person registered for the course cannot make it, can he/she send someone in their place?
No. Training Vouchers may only be redeemed by the individual they have been assigned to.
How long do we have to use the Training Vouchers?
The vouchers will expire upon the earlier of expiration of Software Assurance coverage, or 6 months (180 days) from issue date. If the voucher is reserved by a Microsoft Certified Partner for Learning Solutions prior to the Software Assurance expiration date, it is valid for the remaining time allotted.
If we have already scheduled training, and the course date is after our Software Assurance coverage expires, may we still go to the training?
Yes. If you choose not to renew your license agreement and continue your Software Assurance coverage, you may proceed with taking the training course as long as the course date begins within 180 days following the expiration of your Software Assurance coverage.
